Snowglobe

As I type this entry up, the rains have returned and are systematically erasing all evidence of that beautiful first snowfall of the season.
But I'm not ready to quite leave the winterland of wonder, so here are some bonus shots of the surprise, though at times inconvenient, extremely breath taking.
Because as we all well know, The Redneck Shire looks 100% better under a layer of the white stuff.

All kinda critters searching for sanctuary at Chez StanMinn: CAM corroborated my scat ID as coyote
It takes a lot besides food to get Zabby excited about anything- but she does love playing in the snow and catching balls with her face!
CAM is convinced we kept wild birds alive; that's only 1/2 of the covey of quail that took us up on our offerings
Domestic birds pissed about their self-imposed incarceration
In addition to extra Stellar Jays are many hungry wee birds

CAM employed a very 'natural' way to get the gate unstuck

HWY 36, which will remain treacherous for upwards of a week because ODOT is completely incompetent when it comes to clearing the streets, on-ramps and major thoroughfares. This situation will also mandate school closures keeping the kids home for days on end, much to their parents' delight.
Dog says, "Not my problem- throw me another snowball, Hippie!"
